The nerve conduction study is a procedure involving the evaluation of the functionality of the motor and sensory nerves of a patient’s body. This interventional pain management procedure measures the electrical impulse that is running through the nerves.
During the procedure, the nerves are stimulated by electrode patches through mild electrical impulses. Electrical signal and activities through the nerves are recorded that can determine which nerve is causing the pain. Once the cause of pain is known, the most ideal treatment can be administered.
