Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a common lung condition. Patients with COPD tend to have difficulty in breathing. This disease is mainly caused by excessive smoking. However, there are other factors that may increase the risk of acquiring COPD. One factor is exposure to and inhalation of harmful gases.
The 2 types of COPD are chronic bronchitis and emphysema. In chronic bronchitis, there is inflammation of bronchial airways. This causes a struggle in inhaling and exhaling. It also becomes harder for patients to cough up mucus.
In emphysema, the air sacs are damaged. The air that was initially inhaled is trapped in the damaged air sacs. This makes no room for new air to get in. Thus, causing it hard to get the needed oxygen to circulate.

Dr. Hadi is a certified pediatrician. She is licensed by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Hadi has been in practice for 9 years. She is trained to meet the unique medical needs of patients. Her specialty is to treat infants, children, and adolescents throughout their developmental stages.
Dr. Mehvash Hadi is the only doctor available for our Family Practice and Pediatrics on Tuesday but is only accepting Medicare and commercial insurance plans for this.
